Manufacturing Approach to Construction – Why Should You do This?
October 4th, Infrastructure Hub, 14:30 – 15:15
The construction and infrastructure sectors are undergoing a significant transformation. The journey has already started with Innovate UK’s Transforming Construction Challenge, the Government’s Construction Playbook and Transforming Infrastructure Performance (TIP) roadmap. The thread linking them is a drive to improve productivity and speed of delivery, reduce waste and emissions and address an imbalance in trade. A manufacturing-based approach is at the heart of the transformational change required. In this presentation, MTC will share the progress made through the work of the Construction Innovation Hub and other initiatives that have brought industry and clients together – including the lessons drawn from the Platform Design Program. We will identify the opportunities for industry, and the key things to consider when starting on the journey to adopting Modern Methods of Construction.
