DACH+HOLZ International, which takes place every two years, will not be taking place as originally planned in February 2022 in Cologne. The continuing coronavirus pandemic and unpredictable framework conditions for holding trade fairs as set by government policy make it impossible to plan such an event with any certainty. For this reason, the organiser and institutions responsible for the trade fair have unanimously agreed to postpone DACH+HOLZ International until July. It will now be held from 5-8 July 2022 (Tuesday to Friday) at the Cologne Exhibition Centre.

The conditions for a successful and relaxed trade event from 15 to 18 February 2022 have changed dramatically for the worse in the past few days and weeks as a result of the coronavirus pandemic and changing government guidelines. “It is currently impossible to predict whether the situation will ease again by February. Our primary goal was and remains to host a DACH+HOLZ 2022 that promises success for all participants. In this increasingly acute situation, we can no longer guarantee this for the planned time slot of the event,” explained Klaus Plaschka, Managing Director of GHM Gesellschaft für Handwerksmessen mbH.

Dirk Bollwerk, President of ZVDH, and Peter Aicher, Chair of Holzbau Deutschland, said, “DACH+HOLZ International is the key industry meeting for carpenters and roofers and therefore the most important trade fair there is. We are facing great changes and challenges, which include climate protection, sustainability, recycling, digitalisation and maintaining a skilled workforce. We need to tackle and master these tasks together as an industry. To do this, we need face-to-face exchange. Postponing DACH+HOLZ International 2022 until the summer provides us with a secure framework for this.”

DACH+HOLZ International trade fair takes place every two years, with the event venue alternating between the Stuttgart Exhibition Centre and the Cologne Exhibition Centre. As the industry meeting point for the roofing and carpentry trades, it offers all product and service areas for a building: timber construction and extension, as well as roofing, wall, sealing and plumbing technology. The trade fair is primarily aimed at carpenters, roofers, plumbers, architects, planners and engineers.
