Some of the findings are:

  • The sector is currently operating at about 13% of what it would in normal circumstances, with considerable work being postponed even if it could be carried out within official guidelines
  • The majority of businesses are most worried about immediate sources of cashflow and being able to pay themselves and staff in the short term
  • Installers are rapidly findings new ways of operating, particularly those who feel comfortable offering essential ‘emergency’ services to householders
  • Despite the economic climate being fairly optimistic going into this crisis, 4 in 10 P&H businesses are very nervous about business conditions in 6-12 months, particularly sole traders and small businesses
